The history of the Houston Highlanders has it's beginnings in late 1963 when several accomplished Pipers and Drummers, from different Pipe bands , came together to form a uniquely Houston Pipe band.
After much discussion the 8 original members of this band began to train other Pipers and Drummers for the band.
The Houston Highlanders took small gigs at first and was making a name for itself by 1964, when it filed as a non-profit and officially became The Houston Highlanders.
